Resolve

Resolve

A Chapter by Oran

This light; this dying star that wails in pain
I see it with my own eyes,
Like watching my own ink fade,
It drifts in the wind until it dies.

The same goes for my sanity
I could have done everything, but not now,
Not when you're gone
To break the cycle, I don't know how.

The wisest, the strongest, yet still it falls.
I used to think maybe I could have done better
But now I know you're the best of me
And I slip and stumble with every letter

It's been a long, lonesome road,
But I will walk no matter how far
Because you're going anyway, and I will be alone
Just know you're in my mind no matter where you are

I beg for rest, I plead for respite;
But the Lord has other things planned
Never have I thought,
That I'd still long to hold your hand

And so I walk with blood on my knees
Still thinking, seeking what I found in you,
To wander and be lost in your eyes again,
To feel your warmth; what am I supposed to do?

I thirst, and the road stretches even farther,
Though I'm drunk in my own madness and dread,
But one day maybe I'll find you again.
I'd rather lose myself to you instead.
