Escape

Escape

A Poem by Michelle Lea

I had to escape the situation...

to "pull a Nancy's" all I could do.

     Bust out!

     Just exit!

     To withdraw!

Anything to avoid my fate is all I could do...

I was flossing to be something I'm not.

Putting on a front might work,

to get me outta this mess,

     afterall it couldn't hurt.

To pretend just a little longer...

just may guarantee my escape!

We all hide behind a mask sometimes; especially if we think a change may take us to a better place! Your poignant write highlights the stress of avoiding a ‘fateful’ situation – nicely done. PS notice you wrote this in 2010 – hope you managed to escape unscathed!!!! :-)

Walk away while you still can... sounds like running might be the best option... I like the direct and raw nature of this poem.

We all have our own need to escape every now and then... Sometimes, just sometimes, we just wanna escape and never turn back...

This is pretty short and quick, yet very understandable situation...
