We Shall… Wed: Stage 4

We Shall… Wed: Stage 4

A Poem by Rufus "Mr Blaque" Lacy, Jr
"

This is the continued story of everlasting love

"

The sun shining against the swaying meadow

Brisk breeze ballets across the audience

As lite chatters of adoration emulates the airwaves

The entire town is in attendance with smiles painted

As the sonnets of yearning gracefully crumbles the hearts

Social acceptance of love’s unifying warmth

As the onlookers gaze upon the absolution of joy

That represents a constant union of acquaintances

Preordain to connect this combination of certainty

God has blessed this merging with the smiles of summer light

The tunes of the wind whistle beautiful gust

In such a long time nothing so wondrous has touched

The spirits of so many hearts

The witnesses are experiencing love in its purest form

Not cheapened by the mistrustfulness of others

Admiring the glimmer in the eyes of the betrothed

As his beauty inches near, the wordless onlookers sigh with bliss

Speech has not a chance to familiarize itself

As a single lid droplet trickles about her cheek

Catching flight in the wind as a new born spider

He has never seen anything more astonishing in his life

Maybe he can compare this to a lively spring day

With so much new life actively stirring about

And melodic birds chanting divine vibrations about the echoing woodlands

The gleam from his teeth display the euphoria

That nothing can contest to this representation of her exquisite presence

Or even comes close to this artist depiction of affection felt

Yes she approaches the alter with delight and jubilation

She sees his form standing waiting as a light sparkles from a single tear

Knowing that the man she is to wed is her knight

Her kingdom of delight and loving devotion

Understanding that he completes her universal yearning

To have a companion that is dedicated to US, THEM, and WE

Nothing can interfere with the mixture of this love and gratification

Because she will not be denied her paradise of domestic harmony

With the one that she has designated as the breath of her longing

The Priest “Sir”

I take you to be my companion in this presence and eternity

Watching over me and our household, the Heavens have delivered me a Queen

I vowel to be your confidant, your warrior, your provider

Now, I am your Husband, your ecstasy, your shield

“Placing the ring upon her finger”

The Priest “Madam”

I take you to be my companion in this presence and eternity

Watching over me and our household, God has given me a King

I vowel to be your belief, your empathy, your purpose

Now, I am your Wife, your desire, your guardian

“Placing the ring upon his finger”
