Rapture

Rapture

A Poem by Max

You trouble waters where no man swims

Your quiet whispers rise through the din

But when I look to see your eyes

They show me only facsimiles

Cantors sang of you long ago

Your name was heard both high and low

I would join them in their mirth

If your heart would but give me berth

Once I watched you speak in tongues

And though I could not comprehend

I knew that you were singing of

The ecstasy that Lovers tend
