What makes me think I’m better

Just because my skin tone is lighter

Why should I make myself superior

Just because I come from a certain ethnic background

What gives me the right to set myself above others

All because they are not in my ‘social status’

Or they don’t meet my standards

Of ‘beauty’ ‘perfection’ and ‘class’

 

Just because I’m Christian

Doesn’t make me holy

Just because I’m black

Doesn’t mean I’m poor

Just because I’m female

Doesn’t mean I’m a lesser gender

Just because I’m Muslim

Doesn’t make me a terrorist

 

I will not discriminate,

I just won’t do it

I refuse to be a hater

I refuse to look down on others

I refuse to follow this crowd called ‘society’

 

Muslim, Catholic, Rich, Poor, Black, White, Man or Woman,

We were all born into this world for a purpose

We were all created from the same hand of God

 

SAY NO TO DISCRIMINATION!

A very strongly worded and very thoughtful piece.

Your words have a universal truth to them; in this day and age discrimination on the basis of race, creed, colour, belief or social status is just not on.

Your words have power and strength in them. Well written and courageous in their attempt to change and inspire. Nice work.
