I'LL STAY WITH YOU TONIGHT

I'LL STAY WITH YOU TONIGHT

A Poem by Barbara Lynne

I'll Stay With You Tonight

A smile or maybe two

I've given along the way

But never did I think of

Going home with them to stay

My heart was always looking

For the place that you call “Bliss”

The only smile that mattered

Was the one after our first kiss

I want something special

Not gold or diamond rings

The magic that I long for

Is not found in material things

The heartfelt gentle whispers

As you gently kiss my ear

Means so much to me my darlin'

For it's you that I hold dear

So as you hold me in your arms

And the world drifts out of sight

You'll hear me answer softly

“I'll stay with you tonight”

About
I have been writing poems and songs since I was a young girl. Sometimes it is easier to say how you feel and what you dream in a poem or song than it is face to face. I appreciate all comments and t.. more..
