A Poem by Iika

IT takes me a while
to realise
that the soft hissing sound
isn’t my mind, leaking out

        (rats abandoning a sinking ship)

but carbon dioxide
escaping the confines
of an off-brand can of energy.

Like my thoughts
postmodern and overwrought
getting lost in empty pages filled with words.

An interesting little poem. Not sure what it's telling me.

Again Thank you for this entry in my little contest.
I'm sure you'll understand that I cannot comment now as this would be unfair to other entries.
I shall return after the contest ends.
Very best regards.
Clive.

I really like your style, this is just the kind of poetry I prefer to read. Though the top 10 in the 2nd Contest is just so high, this nearly made it
