Demons

Demons

A Poem by alltheloveabove
"

When nothing seems to be working out, where ever you turn.

"
I try to find a place where I feel safe
but demons, relentless, trace my steps.
Demons, relentless, follow my lead
they give me no time to catch my breath.
The demons of betrayed friendship,
they echo me
A repeated face --- but no embrace.

The demons of friendship, pulling sins
a circle tight, but without me in
"Friends" they're called, but strangers just
gossips and whisperers, oblivious lusts.

The demons of love, most painful yet
there's no turning back when one's mind is set.
To toil and fret is one's biggest regret
A love that involves more, including the rest ...

The demons of school have followed me here
there is no place on earth that can be a haven
with my friends and family close, there's nothing to fear
but I realise now, they're nothing but a menacing raven.

thank you. :)
Very sad poem. I can connect though. It's hard when you feel surrounded by the people that you should be loving, but the relationships are so shallow and fake. That was my interpretation of the last stanza, and that's how it applies directly to my life. Sorry you're in a rough place. There IS a haven from those demons, and people find it in many different ways:)
