Born In Bethlehem

Born In Bethlehem

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

            An Angels Visit

Born in Bethlehem

Mary

An angel appeared

Be not afraid God is with thee

Son of God

Will be born from a virgin’s womb

Your child brings light to the world

True Light

Baby

Born in Bethlehem

Two thousand years ago tonight

Swaddling clothes

He has a manger for His bed

Upon new soft hay He sleeps

Savior

Rejoice

Shepherd in the fields

Keeping watch on their flocks by night

Be joyful

Glad tidings I bring to mankind

Born this day is Christ the Lord

Amen

Jesus

The Light of the world

He will take away all your sin

Eternal

Rejoice in the Lord all ye lands

And serve the Lord with gladness

Kneeling

The Spirit is alive in your words and helps us know the true meaning of Christmas. We celebrate Jesus being born and that is the special gift. Thank you for your beautiful poem.

I like how you use the same format as the other Christmas poem, but this one focuses on the religious side of the holiday, where the other one is secular. You have a nice way of working with words. Well done.
