Day Remembered

 

All the Valentines Days that have come and gone

Too many taken for granted, too many without song

I know the day approaches, so sad can’t you see

My Valentine is no longer here, only me, not us we

 

A piece of me is missing that cannot be replaced

My heart is like a puzzle jumbled and apart

There is no hope of finding the piece that is gone

That piece resides in heaven, singing angels’ song

 

This heart of mine is breaking, for the one I love

Chocolates and flowers are not what I need today

I need two arms to hold me, two lips to kiss one more time

My Valentine now writes us poetry with a heavenly rhyme

 

Dear Lord, give him flowers with heaven’s sweet perfume

Shower him with moonbeams from this lover’s moon

Fill his heart with all my love each and every day

Let him know how much he’s loved in Your special way

 

 

One day my heart will be complete in God’s heavenly realm

We will smell heaven’s flowers, walking hand and hand

I will feel his arms around me bathed in heaven’s Light

My Valentine and me will bask in moonbeams bright

 

We’ll join with another tiny heart who went before

The child who waited patiently for his mom and dad

We will all be together for eternity you see

Puzzle complete, mom, dad, and baby makes three

Beautifully written Nancy. You penned this from deep within your heart, with all the love and longing for your "earthly" Valentine"and your precious little son.

Your "heavenly" Valentine awaits with roses to greet you, when the time is right....and then the missing piece will so joyously fit into place! And I suspect that there will be a beautiful single rose for you from your little cherub!
