The Wolfington Brothers

The Wolfington Brothers

A Story by Nancy Lee Shrader

The Wolfington brothers stalked the countryside, twin werewolves hunting their prey.  Five hundred years going from town to town, never staying in one place too long, so not to arouse the suspicion that a werewolf was responsible for the kill.  The full moon quickened their hunger on this moonlit night.  Their sharp teeth glistened in the moonlight, as they ran through the streets.  As they exited the woods they saw them, identical twin beauties strolling in their flower garden.  It wasn’t hunger that drove them now; it was lust of a mate.  They pounced upon them, one bite ... love blossomed.

Great story telling. This did justice in the realm of getting the message across. Great message. There's lot of times where a story can have a great message to aim for, and have a lot of under lining things but then no one gets it, and if no one gets it, then the point has failed. But in my opinion this did well to get the message across. You made it clear, which is why I think it's good. Keep up the good work. What was also great was that I could imagine the story as I read it, and that is also a strong point of stories. The ability to have the reader imagine it because after all we're reading not watching it, but it was as if I was there as I read this, and that is great. Good job once again.

This is a nice little story that shows a lot in a small space of time. I think this could be extended succesfully to a larger tale. It is quite atmospheric as it is and there seem to be plenty of plot lines which could be elaborated upon. I really like the artwork too, the pencil drawing at the top is my favourite- it is visually compelling in the sense that it shows the dual nature of the lycanthrope. I enjoyed this, spence
