A Silly Person

A Silly Person

A Poem by N.A.

I am a silly person

and I have a silly life

I have become so involved with imaginary characters

that I neglected the real ones

I guess it does not matter really

I can not tell the difference

anymore

I know my jokes do not make sense

but at least I am laughing at them

I am awake for now

but still not quite engaged

I guess it is ok

I am trapped in a body

that I have little control over

I forget about what I am holding in my hand

or how to properly use a ladle

or finish words

the diagnosis does not matter

It never did

I am alone with this task

to drive

round corners

stomp down madness

avoid spinach and bread

I am a silly person

with silly problems

and silly solutions

I have a silly life

and a silly everything

I get it

I really do
