how many more?

how many more?

A Poem by Natalie

I wonder how many coffee cups

have borne your touch,

the warmth of your lips

and been recklessly abandoned.

I wonder how many blankets

have given you comfort,

and just how many

have been twisted in your slumber.

I wonder how many pills

have passed through your system

trying to fix you, to fight for you,

only to be taken apart into pieces.

And I wonder,

just how many more white pages you will write on

with your heart of ink,

describing your sad, sad eyes,

laughing as you write,

your hands trembling with sadistic glee.

"I wonder how many pills

This excerpt is simplistically brilliant.
I would buy a book just based on those few lines.
You convey a powerful message in very few words.
I can't wait to read more.

Good poem Natalie, great questions. :)
Some relationships are just very unhealthy, as you have described so well.

Thank you Ana! :)
somehow I placed myself as that man there in your poet.... I don't know why it was quite a resemblance.

I'm glad you could relate to it!
Quite inventive metaphoricals Natalie - I especially liked the 'twisted blanket' and 'heart of ink' lines.
Really good - I hate the blanket twisters of this world !!
