Parasite

Parasite

A Poem by _Hanabi_

I sit and I wait, I feel it on the inside,
It's consuming me, it's taking me, I can't hide.
I sit and I listen, I wait for it to speak,
But nothing comes out, nothing, not even a peep.

It stays quite when I listen,
When I'm busy it talks.
It says horrible, degrading, disgusting things,
It teases, it mocks.

It makes me do things, makes me say things I don't mean,
It makes me hurt people, it makes me cry,
It makes me scream.

I can't relax, I just can't be free,
It's taking away everything I hold dare to me.
It whispers to me when I'm alone,
I hear it whenever I'm on the phone.

I hear its voice when others speak,
A slow, nerve wrecking shriek.
I can feel it whenever I lie still,
Like it's scratching to get out, someday...
...maybe it will.

This is good. With the description you've chosen to use, this "parasite" could be an actual, real parasite, it could be an oppressive lover. It could be anyone who threatens your peace. I like the way you leave that open to thought. Good job on this
