unhappy, unworthy

unhappy, unworthy

A Poem by Deepshikha
"

what happy, unworthy creatures we are...

"

what happy, unworthy creatures we are;

happy to exist, small and worthless---

and not even live, merely exist;

what unhappy, worthy creatures we are

how we walk without seeing the seen,

and search without knowing what is known;

we are lost, us happy creatures---

we can’t be found, us worthy creatures

passing, drifting, just wafting by---

running to fight for life, but only so;

just a pretension, merely  a convention---

feigned rest under a painted night sky

what unhappy, unworthy creatures we are

I really like the subject on this one. Reminds me of the scene in "American Beauty" where the kid watches the plastic bag dance in the wind. Look closer...
