still bragging

. . .   and when i gave her the bag back

she was like, “you’re such a nice person,

such a nice person, thank you, thank you

so much, you’re so nice . . .”

 

 

and i couldn’t take the compliment,

quickly turned away,

cantered back up the road

after briefly saying “it’s okay” as i flashed

a smile,

 

 

and i thought afterwards

that maybe i should have said;

“well, i’m adjudged to be schizo

by the State Ma’am . . .  so go easy on us in future

when you read the press,”

 

 

as i tipped my hat . . .

 

 

but didn’t,

 

 

nor did i leave a calling card

in the bag either,
