Ever wonder if other peoples think, other than what you see from Europeans?

What if you learned that other global societies had already concluded, long before Europeans did, that the earth is not flat nor is it the center of the solar system, that we are part of a vast system of disparate bodies in space, among many other things? That, coming from the continent south of Europe around the 12th century, which also holds the absolute record of all time for one of the incalculably richest ever persons, Emperor Mansa Musa I, of "Timbuktu" 1312-1337 C.E. of around $400 billion and founded a university. Some were written in non-greek or European scripture or premises. On his journey to Mecca, of which he did not return, it is said that he dispensed tens of thousands worth of gold to villages on his way. Africa was doing mathematics and geometry 37,000 years ago.

One example: Ibn Al-Haytham, 965-1040 C.E. of Iraq. Worked on the direction of light and also on how it can be bent, gravity, long before Issac Newton. This was during the second Golden Age.

Another very notable is Ibn al-Shatir who made scripts of a heliocentric solar system when the Ptolemaic system of Earth centered was still in use. He is believed to have lived in the 14th century, two centuries before Copernicus. It is speculated that Copernicus may have borrowed from Ibn al-Shatir's diagrams of Nihayat-al-Sul  fi tashih al-usul or "The Final Quest Concerning the Rectification of Principles' although they were written in Persian and Arabic.

An assessment is presented by Dr. Mesut Idriz of the University of Sharjah of its department SAASST, Shrarjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences and Technology. It is said that the manuscript is eventually found in Krakow, Poland and the Vatican. It is now in the public domain of the United States.

 

Not to mention that a rich history of science is constantly being excavated from pre-Columbian Americas. Some circular shaped meso-american calendars do not depict the world at the center of the bodies (universe) but rather a radiant source is at the middle, like the sun.

Science fact, not fiction. Are those societies getting due recognition for their contributive efforts and even more?
