A Poem by New Theory

I see the image of you in her.
I search your shadow in a stranger.

You are not here, gone somewhere
In someone elses' arms
Smiling on some other jokes
Thinking of some body else

She passes beside me as 'you'
A sweet breeze floats by my side.
Reminding me ever so much.
Your lingering flowery essence.

Ohh how it makes me feel.
When your image appears on hers.
Not even slightly I hesitate to see
What was never there from the beginning.

Finding solace in somebody else to curb the pain of a significant other's departure truly is a heavy topic to tackle and I believe you've done a very well job in portraying that heavy, nagging feeling of loneliness that someone in that position must feel. Truly it is a heart-wrenching position, for both the individual handling the feelings of betrayal and the one involved with that person, possibly head-over-heels in love with them while their lover is still swooning at the very thought of another as their heart aches with nostalgia. Very well done on this poem, Theory, keep it up.

To me, this is about still being in love with someone else while either being with or trying to find another.
