Mother

Mother

A Poem by newyearnorma

I know what it's like to lose everything
I have seen so much in the last eighteen years
Mother I have much to share with you

I remember you from when I was very young, laughing having fun
Then bipolar came and stole you away from me
Then the days of hugs ended, and the days of me helping you live started
It was me helping you in your battle against enemy's only you could see

Then came the day you sent me away
Out into the world
I was so unprepared

Orphan by your choice became my new way of life
You refusing to hear my name

But that was long ago, and any anger I carried was gone long ago
Now it just fill my heart full of pain to think of all you miss

You have never seen my beautiful son or the woman I've become
You have let untreated mental diseas take all that from you
