Hurt and destroy

I want to see blood flow and hear cries of pain

I want to hurt and destroy 

I long to make you feel the pain I've felt

I long to ripe out your eyes for the hurt you've caused

It would be a mistake for you to come close to me right now 

I feel barely human

I'm like some kind of wounded animal

Longing to snap and sink my teeth into the source of my pain

To feel the muscle and tissue rip apart

Ach, there was a case in the UK recently where precisely this happened, a guy really did rip out the eyes of his girlfriend. She is now blind for life and he is now in jail. Why did he do it? What drove him to it? I can only think he was impelled to hurt and destroy. Such deeds do happen. We can be astonishing cruel aniamls. This is terribly sad. We must resist it in others and in ourselves. Because ... we must. Great poem though because it captures how things sometimes are inside us.
