Honky Town

Honky Town

I think it's funny as hell, but that's me.

Honky town is a pretty little town where the streets are paved with glass,

And every time you step outside you fall up-on your—
Honky donkey diddly on-key makes me think of a lie,
But if you go to Honky town, you’ll see the same as I.

In Honky town there were two men and both were very rich
One was the son of a millionaire, the other was a son of a—
Honky donkey diddly on-key makes me think of a lie,
But if you go to Honky town, you’ll see the same as I.

It makes me think of that song that goes "Miss Susy had a steamboat/ the steamboat had a bell/ miss Susy went to heaven/ the steamboat went to" And it continues on and substitutes the naughty word with a plain one.

This poem was really fun and I think that if you found the right tune then you could actually sing this and have a great deal of merriment.

I loved it! A really fun poem. Reminds me of mad libs LOL. It is nice when poetry can be light and entertaining instead of deep and mysterious. Sometimes we just need to be entertained. Thanks for inviting me to read it. It really is great!

Good job
