Shapeshifting

Shapeshifting

A Poem by Fanicia E.
"

12/29/2016 This goes out to all the men that are more interested in getting to know my body than me

"
Am i unclean?
Are my thoughts unpure
And yours
Blemish free

Is my existence a stubborn stain on mankind
Suppressing my happiness an act so sublime?

Should i lower myself to your expectations?
Engage in conversations with no anticipation?

Be the doe-eyed sex doll
My purpose
Your pleasure?

Or lose every bit of myself to make you feel better?

Oh Fanicia... no woman should ever have to write such words or feel the need to. Love who you are, be who you are. The man who approves that in you is wanting only the best. That's you, dear friend.

Your writing touches the mind and heart.. always has..

I know you pretty much spelled out what the poem was about, but this can also be symbolic of other situations. Religion or society in general, for example. Everyone around you wants you to conform and be their w***e.

I really enjoyed reading this! I liked the flow and your word choice. Nicely written.
