Darker, Darkest

Darker, Darkest

A Poem by James Takeo Panton

I'm having a really s****y day...

Faith now shattered in hope and trust
Onward, forward, go I must
Till end draws near of all good things
Darker, darkest does my heart sing
I weep now many tears of sorrow
For all of those with no tomorrow
They are at peace, yet I am not
Lost and helpless in darkest thought
Sombre sadness is now my friend
Keeps me close to bitter end
Where hope once was, now there is pain
That never leaves and always remains
That fate would lead me to this place
And leave my heart here in disgrace
So cruel this world within that I reside
Make me fearful and my heart hides
To be alone and then be gone
With only words to carry on
Darker, darkest does my heart sing
Of the despair that it now brings
