Pit of Despair

Pit of Despair

A Poem by James Takeo Panton
"

From bad to worse...

"

In this place, so dark and deep
Makes me wish for eternal sleep
No more pain and no more loss
No more lies, but at such cost
No more faith and no more hope
No smiles as I only mope
There is no light or sunny day
Only black that fades to grey
With heavy heart and empty soul
Seeking an end becomes my goal
I am deep within this dark place
Broken heart and empty space
I was a fool to think and believe
From this suffering I would gain reprieve
But now I sit alone and wait
For the end is near, it is my fate

Wow.. such fierce darkness.. have been there a time or 2 for sure.. lost my 3 grandparents and my father within 2 years.. one after another.. 3 were my biggest support system family-wise.. really hurt... your lines:

I was a fool to think and believeFrom this suffering I would gain reprieveBut now I sit alone and waitFor the end is near, it is my fate

No material thing in this world can we take with us.. memories we can hold.. hope, peace, belief, dreams, we sometimes hit road blocks.. but then we have to survive and find the true meaning behind each and every test in life. You have more strength than most.. you have ventured to do that which most will not.. your uncle sounds like he was a fantastic person who had impact on you.. if you get really sad alot of people seek therapy if they get too down.. that may not be the case.. you may just be writing a really sad moment in mourning when you wrote this... I hope you are not nearing your true end.. fate.
