O' Kind People

Dedicated to every kind person out there!!

They make me happy

They make me smile so cheerfully

They make me forget my problems for a bit

They give me energy when they spread positivity

 

Kind people,

Being kind doesn’t pay

Still, you go out of your way

Lending a hand, making sure I’m okay

O’ kind people, you make my day

 

Whether it’s giving me directions when I’m lost

Or flashing a sunny smile when I’m all ice and frost

Time is precious, you could have ignored me

Instead, you took time to help

Even though you may have somewhere else to be

Left me a nice comment on my pictures,

Texted me saying you really missed me

Lent me a phone charger when I had none

Gave me motivational words when I think I had no one

Walked me to the hospital in a foreign country

I’m amazed by your warm heart and sincerity

 

Helping an elderly board a coach or taxi

Posting a nice feedback for others to see

Volunteering with the children’s society

Providing your professional services for free

 

The world may be unbeautiful

And peace might not be here to stay

But so long as you exist, kind people,

It gets a little better because you make our day

Bless you, I hope light shines in every of your way.

This was so pleasant to read!

I especially like the internal near rhyme in line three of stanza 1.

Line four of stanza 4 I think has a grammatical error with “think I had” seems a bit off with the change in tense. Perhaps “think” should be “thought”?

“Or flashing a sunny smile when I’m all ice and frost” is my favorite line.

If only all the people on the earth was so kind
What a wonderful place it would be

They walk into me on my scooter and mumble hateful words
Knock my canes from my hands and just walk on past

If only the few people I happen to meet
Had a thought for others less fortunate

Some day it could be them on a scooter
If they ever make it so far
