lost in lonely skys

I reflect upon midnight skies
Watch as the sun kisses the world good-bye
 
I reflect upon a thought and smile
I realize life is a one way train
We are here but a short while
 
 
Yet rather than embrace the idea “You are a once in a life time chance.. “
Heart break is like that rock in my shoe
Why fear it
how else will I find you.
 
Yet
I hush my breath because of fear and chance
All the dangers in and adventures I take in life,
Saying hello,
has my breath’s exhale in that moment find pause as I turn away
Hello finds silence yet another day
Why?
I don’t know
 
 
I lay back watching under circling stars lost in a dream of who you are
The only thing I know between this space and time
Is
this is my right now,
My right here
And how bad I wish you were mine

Dang, that was really good. I don't know why, and I still can't figure out why, but even though I thought your writing was standard and maybe a little corny, that last stanza really made me sad. Like legitimately sad. Just my thoughts, but I think the last stanza, which starts with the universe and ends with a relationship between two people, really encapsulates how I feel.

it is the dream of the idea that there is a soul mate...
not anything about a break up..
or that the universe ends HA!
