Blinded

Blinded

A Poem by norikiyo
"

I've been thinking deeply about arrogance recently.

"

She was flawless on the outside.

She didn't need any makeup,

Nor a lovely dress.

She wore whatever she liked,

And whatever she chose.

Love was misunderstood.

Who deserved her kept leaving,

For they were too sincere.

Perfection was a flaw,

Because they didn't want to be selfish.

She was beautiful,

Was thought to be nothing more,

Was pitied for love must be weak,

And she was therefore lonely.

To love an ugly person,

With a pretty soul,

Was the heroic thing.

She was therefore lonely.

Love was blinded by humbleness.

She was a beautiful person,

With a beautiful soul.
