His Head

His Head

A Poem by Miss World

Flames fly over his head.
He can't see them but
he feels them burn.
Children scream in his ear.
He can't see them but he feels
their hurt.
I am telling him to stay.
He sees me, hears me but breaks the
promise anyway.
I can't feel his heart.
I can see it as it breaks and
burns.
I can see his tears.
But I can't hear them anymore.
