The Basement (Dying to Meet You)

The Basement (Dying to Meet You)

A Poem by J. R.
"

I'm sure we've all had a room in our homes that scared us as children. I may make a short story out of this one.

"
Come down
I'm so lonely
Down here
It's been a long time
Since I've seen you
Keep the lights out
Don't yell or make a sound
Come down here with me
Close your eyes
Walk into the dark
Trust me
I'm always waiting
Under the floor
Inside the walls
Waiting for you
Always waiting
Everywhere you look
Every shadow cast
You will never escape me

Incredibly haunting, I actually felt uneasy reading this poem. It's a fantastic piece of work, the first stanza really states that this is a creepy poem. Language is perfect, the last line really drives the point home.
Great piece of work.
