Irony

Irony

A Poem by nyi

Love is nothing more than just a fleeting illusion

In my desperate attempts to catch glimpses of its existence

All the realities have been swallowed up by its divinity

Cherishing the love is just like making people younger

The logic has been stripped away leaving the soul naked

Delicacy of love could not just withstand the harshness of life

Love is simply too pure to be mixed up with this tainted world

Moments of truth drowned inside the torment of needs

But I still thrive on a fragile hope to keep my dream alive

For love is the dim spark inside the dark barbarism of life itself

In a world so transient, wouldn't it be beautiful to see ever lasting love?

Just reading some magazine and when I saw the word 'irony' it gave me this bizarre idea to write this. Don't really know why though. Thank you for reading. Cheers.

With age the meaning of love changed. You learn to appreciate the simple things. Lust may become less. But a back rub and someone who take care of you. Marriage is hard work. Take two people working together for a common goal. Last question had many answers. Love come when you give love without the need of the love being returned. Thank you for sharing the excellent poem.
