Frozen Flower

Frozen Flower

A Poem by nyi
"

for the children of the streets

"

Before the stink of cruelty touches her dirty skin

And the real nature of life itself starts to occupy her

A child with no shoe or slipper can tell wondrous stories

More than the adults driving expensive luxury cars

Until she is stripped apart from her silent innocence

Down her spine of logical life when facing with neglect

I try to grasp the glances of her creative mind as she smiles

While rolling inside the depth of starvation, her euphoria still merges

Are her struggles tending to become not acknowledged?

It will all become terrible shame inside our unconsciousness

So I try to freeze her smile inside my memory and soul

Perhaps one day I would start to embark upon the fight for them

That children like her would still be flowers and not need to freeze

Their innocence would still be attached instead of withering away

As all children solely deserve to be forever and ever after all

The world can break our heart. So many kids are going hungry and are homeless. Here in the USA. 1 in 5 are going to bed hungry. The world is suffering in many places. But the waste and foolishness of man will spend trillions on war and be blind to the tears and cries of the child. Artwork and poetry was powerful. Thank you for the excellent poetry.
