Swept into autumn bliss

Sweat and blood stain this earth

Bearing witness to foreign stars

Flesh tasting waters serene and cold

Shedding my introverted skin

To birth a soul into this humble world

I have swam the berth of this river

Bitten by its undertow

I grow both young and old
