Truths in Fairytales

Truths in Fairytales

A Poem by Gaige

Oh, beautiful girl
So lost and lonely
Waiting for a better man
To find you
In this bitter room

Is this how you are?
Or how you're told to be?
So much for burning candles
The crutches we adore
State of lackluster trust

I came along so quiet
Carrying myself
With saintly demeanor
To take you from this
Endless age of darkness

Help me help yourself
Let me love you enough
I can be the wind
Blowing through you hair
I can be the sunshine
Cascading down upon your face
I can always be

We can always be amazing to someone else than we could be to ourselves. We feel we can give others a better life and a good chance for hope and opportunity. Fairytales, we all wish we could live one. Every girl wishes to find her prince in shining armor standing outside on their porch on a horse, waiting to take them away. But these days, we must deal with reality and it is possible to provide and give a better life to another than we can ourselves.

It's got a good feel for something that was aimless. Title could use some work, though.

Very much the Disney Prince, and Princess. Reminds me of our cinderella generation, every girls needs to be saved... Or at least that is what they tell us to be.
