Learning to Live

Learning to Live

A Poem by Gaige

Give up your final thoughts to the storm
Insanity claims your throne of thorns
Whispers in the dark beckoning onward
Guilty tongue bound in scarlet stone

Wounded living among their pitiful creeds
Pay no heed to deeds of dead men
Long worn into a dust; fine and scarring
Breathing it in let your lungs bleed oxygen

Ashes fallen around us like snow
Innocent souls making angels on the ground
I look down upon demons making my world so cold
Save us and cherish us for the children we are

All mortal coils must be shed
Immortality is a tragic fate of nothingness
One day our lives will matter for something
For we all take a final turn to an inevitable end
