Regret

Regret

A Poem by Gaige

Sunset lost in a fairy tale ending
Wishing for some kind of hero
Someone to save me from myself
Parallel fantasy; both minds entwined
Darkness is burning, light is consuming
We're just lost children
Looking for a way home to warm beds
Redefine love in eyes so grim and narrow
Sever us from heart strings decayed and old
Merely lost souls in some foreign place
Life a harrowing race
The finish line is the grave
Sobbing, tears falling
All for the sake of not crying anymore
Is this life worth remembering?
I recall that first perfect sunrise
The city that belonged to only us for a night
So responsible for what I felt
I was a fool for falling in love
But I blame you for breaking my heart
Why'd you have to be so beautiful?
It's your fault I feel in love in the first place

Gaige
I seem naive and a little pitiful here, but I'm not always profound nor am I always stoic and strong.
