The Human Drama

The Human Drama

A Poem by Gaige

People lost in their hurting
World cruel and ever so daunting
Does truth consume and surround?
When words are restless and unbound

Let slip what you honestly feel
The feelings that remind you of what's real
Fade and draw the picture you see
Fracture and fade into the bleed

Making no difference in the face of pitiable crimes
Knock on the door of masters unknown
Pick crumbs from the floor to survive
Kill the flow behind your eyes
Synapses firing: love, loss, redemption
All the hostile beliefs that make you alive

Here's a few dollars to pay for your final hour
Beg, plead to the playwright for a final showing
You're being written off; your final round
Stage standing empty; no final bow
No love is lost when no love is found
