Lament a failed attempt to reason

An emotion locked within an aged cage

Trapped in some forgotten season

Surviving in a wasteland of heart's remorse

Hopeless longing bereft of passion's course

Turning loose another victim'

A damned soul bound by love's tragic hand

What was once a soul of stone

Is now sundered into tear-stained sand

A seriously chilling last line there. Honestly.
I love how this is so beautifully sorrowful...it's awesome when people can craft duel-toned poems like this, because it plays on two different heart strings.
I can't express enough how much I love the last two lines, though. They're amazing...such a clever, knockout way of putting two contradicting extremes right next together all while avoiding a cliche. Awesome awesome awesome.
"Hopeless longing bereft of passion's course"--impressive line, intense in a hushed way. And also, how are you so good with words? The vocabulary is fantastic, but that's not even the best part. With your word choosing, you create a better flow than what some other simple word may cause. It's awesome.
And of course, the beginning line is a work of art as are the rest of them. I can totally relate with that...completely, so I love it all the more.
Anyhow, your poem is serene in every aspect of the word and I love it, as I do the rest of your works.
