Chapter 2: Harmony

Chapter 2: Harmony

A Chapter by ObsidianSea

My hands are stained.
My feet.
Eyes,
ears,
lips,
tongue,
and mind.
The one price to pay,
for life.
My flesh retched,
starving for abuse.
The shadows, they hide
and show only in weakness.
When,
oh when,
will the dust settle on this
shattered and sandblasted shell?
I long for understanding
but Death holds greater providence.
Where,
oh, where
is the road I've been told of
where Light is so blinding
eyes are no longer Needed?
my skin has lost itself.
no longer flesh, it resigns itself to a sickly yellow
and the shadow of Death descends.
His valleys have turned to ash,
and his meadows to blackened stone.
No different than mine.
I laugh,
I laugh in "victory".

"My skin has lost itself."

This is an interesting read and I love the way it's written. I hope to read more =]

That was intense. the last line was my favorite. I know it doesn't only apply to the story, but that is the feeling I get a lot. Like "victory" cost too much.
