If?

If?

A Poem by Makayla

do you love me now?
will you love me then?
if you don't love me ever
then just let me pretend

if i were a solider
would you write?
would you countdown the days
and pray i come home alright?

if i were a sailor
would you sail away with me?
just the water and us
across the 7 seas

if i were a chef
could i cook you a meal?
i'd fill your stomach with butterflies
and tell you how i feel

so if this is a lie
just let me pretend
you don't love me now
so you won't love me then

This is an amazing poem. Your imagery is taut and your perspective is fresh. I truly enjoy the whole process and flow in this beautiful poetry. Good work and thanks for sharing
