Be Kind Cruel Fates

Be Kind Cruel Fates

A Poem by Sherri Olivera
"

I wrote this when my fiance' was on the road

"

The fates are playing with me a game
A game that I do not want to play.
They are being like a spoiled child.
I have found my happiness in you.
They have put you in my path
They said make what you will of each other.
We have made is wonderful and amazing.
We found something
I don't want to give it back to those cruel fates.
We are not some game to be played.
Our feelings our emotions are not toys.
Are you listening fates?
What I feel for this man is so real.
He makes me feel things I have never felt for anyone else before.
I would follow him anywhere.
I would gladly give him anything he wanted.
He loves me as I love him.
He wants to be with me as much as I want to be with him.
Why are you playing this game with us?
The way I feel when he smiles at me is like we have a secret that we are telling the world.
The way he makes me feel when he just touches me makes my heart race.
When he wraps his arms around me it's like I have a home to finally rest my weary heart.
In him I have found more.
I have found a home, a friend, a lover, a companion.
Everything I have always wanted in a man and more.
I am tired of fighting for what I have.
Please fates...no more fighting...no more struggles.
