Are badtimes wake up calls?

Do things happen for a reason

good or bad, right or wrong?

I really can't say

All I know at present

I can not predict the future.

like the majority of the population

can't either. No crystal ball.

But the truth is bad times really make

you dig deeper into your own

heart mind and soul

and makes you examine your priorities

more and self-values beliefs within

and around you and to seek more answers

to questions, you dare not even think

yourself ever before.

I guess it's a wake-up call to life

to make you take notices  more of

your life situations, health and

general relationships with others

and more so with your own self

as in understanding you better

for who you are as a unique person.

I think that you are right. Bad times are a wake up call to life and to your own self. Maybe often that is why they happen. Maybe we need that wake up call. It's like having a bucket of ice water poured on you. At times when we are going through adversity we desperately need perspective on our situations. Thank you for giving us that perspective.

I kind agree with you part of me does not want to admit that and other part of me thinks definately yes
no one wants to admit reality is hard and dark and bad at times in life. We always want sweet roses and nice things and you don't get that always....so reality check kicks in.

Life is full of so many ups and downs. It is difficult to know whether or not they are intended. Certainly it would be marvelous if we could know for sure which path to take. Many are so perplexed that rather than act on an event, they choose instead to remain stagnant and lose whatever opportunity they may have had. I believe we must swing upward on the highs and just hang on during the lows trusting we'll eventually swing upward again.

Lots of people don't heed the wakeup calls and continue to go through bad things. I don't believe things happen for a reason. There have been too many horrible deaths throughout history.
