Crazy World.

Why do we feel we are put into boxes and

given labels as human beings?

Instead of just being taken as who we are,

in general.

Instead of being told, we are straight, bisexual,

gay and so on.

We are, who we are.

And all that should not be an issue.

We all, come into this world and depart exactly the

same way.

So why should it make any difference as to what sexuality

you are?

Let alone the colour of our skin?

This is a mad crazy world we live in.

Where is the love for humanity and each other?

i understand your point Dawn ... it does seem kind of ridiculous doesn't it?! we like our labels ... it helps the image of order i suppose ... your voice takes a very different approach ... as your speaker laments that any importance at all be placed on issues of ethnicity, sexual preferences etc ... the thing that leaps to my mind, however, is that those who find themselves in those "boxes" make a very vocal point that they are in them ;} interesting eh!? it is a crazy world no doubt ... and not as simple as one would like :( your poem's social statement is never going to be out of date, i'm afraid ... Heaven is somewhere else it seems ... thanks for sharing your thought provoking poem, Dawn! and unique perspective

I agree we are particularly threatened when someone is different. I have no problems with same sex marriages, each to their own and besides they are happy but there is that church group that are not happy and do much complaining lol.
