Guided Back To Safe Shores...

Guided Back To Safe Shores...

A Story by Onlyme

It is so easy to turn your back on someone
who is having a terrible time in life?

And to  just see everything
ahead of you
rosy and bright.

As well as
just focus on your own
health and family
around you.

But,  having an open heart and soul
towards others who are not even
related to you.

Speaks volumes to me.
As that is goodness,
compassion
and simply love for others.

It means you have a good heart and a
warm soul.

To the true friends who really cared and
aid me. When I was really suffering.
Your kindness means so much.
More than you will ever know.

Bless you, for helping me.
And guiding me back to safe shores.
Dawn.

For some reason this made me think of the McEwan novel The Comfort of Strangers. Not that the two are really related.
I agree with the message of compassion, truly.
When I was kid, my mom used to say if not Divinity, then the kindness of strangers will save us.
I try to keep those words pretty close to heart as a grown man.
I still believe in that message, as much as I now believe in your message here.
And I agree completely.

Sorry I can't go on and on right now, Dawn, even if I'd love to.
But I'm still feeling a little under the weather.
I've been fighting with a cold for a few days.

p.s.
this verse went really well with prescription cough syrup.
