Mother, mum,mom, Mother figure.

A belated Mothers Day poem

for the lost soul's whose mother

abandoned them, giving them up

as a baby. 

Or like me,

whose own mother

was just not up to the job.

But tried her best when she could

but due to her own health issues

and problems, she was not the best

mother to me. But she was mine.

Or to anyone, who has lost their mum
and ended up, with a relative bringing

them up as a child.

So they, in turn, were like a

mother figure to them instead.

You are not alone on Mothers Day.

When others give thanks to Mothers

across the world.

As someone cared and loved you for you.

In the namesake of being a mother figure

to you also.

And like mine.

She/they did their very best

 with what they could do

at the time.

None of us are perfect.

I realize and see that now.

Love you. Mum.

You remember here the women who step up to the plate and become Mum to those whose own mums are absent for whatever reason. You are also very generous and forgiving to your own mum Dawn. You embrace all those who did not have an easy and loving relationship with their own mother, and there are many of them out there.

i had a neighbor, she was second mom....now that my real mom has passed..she is more than that.
She still holds me together.
