Everyday consciousness

Everyday consciousness

A Poem by Onlyme

Every human being on earth
spends most of their time
inside their thoughts.

Thinking of the past
the future
and of course
the present tense.
When they have too.

They flip back and forth
to all of these states of consciousness
as memories of preservation, living,
recalling and protecting,
learning and educating themselves.

As well as wakefulness of oneself
and our soul.
Of who we are
as a human being on earth.

Just random thoughts that float
around my own head
and scribbling them down
to ponder on.

1 of 1 people found this review constructive.

when we write we are reflecting ourselves back to ourselves...like a mirror.
and sometimes we lose out on so much of life because we ponder too much, think too much about the past, worry about the future...and we stall in place...just thinking instead of living.

Actually, this tendency of mental wandering holds us back. You might want to check out Eckhart Tolle's "The Power of Now." You also might want to do a spell check on the last word of stanza 2.
