Rambles Of An older Person.

Rambles Of An older Person.

A Poem by Onlyme

You never know
who you have as a neighbour
living next door. Living either side of you.

You could be living next door to murder,
rapist, robber, drug addict, hooker and
so forthwith.

Everyone has a past and how it has
coloured who they are as a person
good or bad.

But ultimately it's with our own moral compass
how we want to be perceived and projected in this
world towards others and more so towards ourself.

I know outside influences can impact and leave
a mark on us all.
But we also can have a say as
to how we want to turn out no matter what
depending on the company we choose
what we do in life, our decisions and the
choices you choose.

None of us are perfect some of us are
dealt a bad hand even before we are born.
Into a bad family, with no moral compass
or one that fell away to the side.
to be forgotten.

We can follow in their bad ways
our reach out and search for a new
path of our own to be who we want
to be.

A better human being in general
with good morals and good integrity in general
and helping others along the way when we can too.

It does not cost anything to be kind, considerate
and nice. Sometimes you do get stood on and used.

But you dust yourself down and get right back up again.
As at the end of the day. Good People are worth more than bad ones.

As bad ones. Are lost souls in search of love and compassion
and good things needed in their lives.
To turn things around and be happy ones more
let alone content in their own existence.

No one is born bad, I would love to believe
they turn that way when life kicks them to the kerb
and no one cares or loves them.
So they get mean, spiteful and nasty.
And do bad wicked things.

Maybe I am foolish and daft for believing in
good in a bad world filled with bad folk.

But I don't want to grow old in a society
of not having no faith in humanity at all.
Or goodness overcoming Bad.

Total agreement Dawn. The common denominator is we are all people first. The human condition is perilous at times and finding that love and understanding is difficult. Its been a while since I have seen you on here...glad to see you again. Wonderful write!

Yes agree with a lot in your poem. thanks Dawn I enjoyed this it made me stop and think about why we are who we are etc. whether it’s in our genes or if it’s from how we are treated I think it’s a bit of both but I have faith in human nature too.thanks Dawn and hope you are well
