Can happen to anyone.

Can happen to anyone.

A Poem by Onlyme

UP up and away in my fucked
up mind.

High on drugs and alcohol.

Thinking and feeling weird s**t
and sometimes nothing at all.

Eventually when I
coming down.
oh god, do I feel rough?

Needing another fix
as fast
as I can get.

Around and around I go.
From high to low
and back again.

My family, they tried to help
me.

But I pushed my luck dry.
They kicked me out
and ban me
from every returning home.

So here,  I am on the streets
middle of winter,
cold and sore
tired and hurting
and people just walk
pass me on the street
some spit on you.
Swear at you.
And kick and hurt you.

Oh, the joys of everyday life
of a junkie on the streets.

Not nice.

I ones had a good job.
A family.
A proper nice home
and a sweetheart of a lover.

Then my life turns from
recreational drugs
to full-on habit over a short
space of time.

Tragic and so true for some folk
I guess.

Everyone has a story and a life.
And a junkie is no exception
some tragic and devastating
has happened to them
to make them turn to drugs
and ended up being on the streets.

First of all, I just have to say that this is wonderful.
No one should judge anyone. Everyone has his own weaknesses, have is own strength, have his own filthy past, have his own dirtiness, have his own mistakes, has his own point of corrections. No man is perfect and I don't think I've ever come across one without flop. We are living in a world of perfect imperfections. No one should judge nobody, you may not know what push me into doing it, you may never have had experience of what I'm passing through, you may have never be in my shoes, then why do you have to blame me for my past mistakes.

And I found this judgemental act among people, they easily cast blame without knowing what the victim is going through.

Well penned, Dawn.

Dawn - I believe you. Unfortunately it can happen to anyone. I know from experience through a very dear friend who got caught in the vicious cycle. We all thank goodness that he found his way out. As far as I know none of us were judgmental of him, but made it very clear that we were there for him.

Dawn I hope, and pray that for you this writing was just an exercise not a recollection of things that have happened to you.

Please take care - I do care about you - Dave
