Mental Health

A Poem by Onlyme

The human mind can really f**k us up
It can make you turn on ourself and
make you think all hope is gone.

Nothing to live for let alone carry on for in
your everyday life.

Mental Health is a taboo subject still at times.

If someone has a broken leg that is
physically seen and you get better
understanding and sympathy from other humans.

But if something is not working quite right inside your
heads and more so minds.

Fellow human beings just don't seem to be able to handle
or understand let alone comprehend how they are feeling or can
relate to them.

More understanding, compassion, tolerance and sympathy is
needed in this modern time of mental health age illnesses
and diseases.

As so many mental hospital and institutions are closing down.
And people with mental health problems are getting discarded
by the side road.

Count yourself lucky. If you don't suffer from a mental health problem.
As you're a lucky person so far. As truth be told it can affect anyone
at any age and any background at all time.

You hit on a problem that seems to becoming more and more prevalent. It is so much easier to empathize and sympathize with those that have obvious physical difficulties. The world today seems to pile more and more stress on people and these are forced to withstand the mental duress of the chaos they find around them. Just as those people need help, so do those whose ailments are of a mental nature. Dawn - I sincerely pray that you are not one of those.

Please take care - Dave
