Numb towards our own feelings

and presents in this world

and what and who

is and are around us.

Closing down the barriers tight!

And up like a steel draw bridge.

Holding all back.

And not letting them enter.

Until one day

the dam breaks

and all emotions

floods and pours

from within out.

The dam has broken

and the pain, hurt, fear

and suffering seeps out from within.

Starting the journey of recovering

and what had been troubling you

and causing you so much numbness

and stifled emotions. 

From escaping in the first place.

we let pain and sorrow numb us...at first that might be a good thing, but in the end, better when the dam breaks and we can let it all out...otherwise the emotions can just eat us alive...
