THIS MOMENT OF LIFE

THIS MOMENT OF LIFE

A Poem by R J Askew
"

May these words bring good cheer now and for ever more. Preening paragon of positivism, at your service *bows*.

"

Holds us, for ever one to one

Captured by words, lovingly penned

But then is over and is gone

Captured by thoughts that time can bend

Enraptured by joys without end

Holds us for ever, one to one

Captured by feelings, woes do mend

Enraptured by hopes time can bend

But then is over and is gone

Captured by hope foes can't end

Enraptured by feelings that mend

Holds us for ever one to one

Captured by joy that knows no end

Enraptured by thoughts that time can bend

But then is over and is gone

Captured by love we know will mind

Enraptured by words, loving penned

This! moment of life

Holds us for ever, one to one

But then is over, and is gone

Ah yes...living in the moment definately hsa it's benefits doesn't it? However, once this moment is gone it is gone forever ... we must continue to live in the moments that are brought to us...for they are truly all we ever have.

This was beautiful indeed, and poigniant.

ah but never truly gone - for our minds are wondrous things - they hold the pictures and our hearts hold the emotions to fit into them. Allowing us to relive the magic moments of our lives - for ever, one to one. great write!

And reading this was like one of those moments you describe, fleeting and beautiful and over too soon. The repetition of the lines and the perfect metre gave it a lyrical feel and I found myself sing songing along. Lovely.

Wow Ron what a brilliantly formed piece, carrying a message so beautiful that it really does bestow a calmness upon who ever reads it. I thought this was a wonderfully "soft" piece with a message so beautiful, that it makes it hard to ignore, even for a skeptic like me... lol

Some of your poems feel like you're writing them for the sake of it, as a pisstake, because you can. This, however, is a true showing of your talent - brilliantly written with artful repetition and sentence composure. I love this; possibly one of my favourites of yours. Nicely written!

you're doing it again. You're writing formed poetry. You do it so well - and I can't remember the form - but I know you nailed it. Living in the moment - a beautiful aspiration. Well stated....poetry with a lift. Nicely done.

If I could offer you a standing ovation online, I would. This is just wonderful. So much joy expressed exquisitely. I have been scrubbing all day... and just popped online to read something... to take me out of my grrrrr... and I read this... Truly a blessing. Thank you so much.

Truly a lovely poem or an ode perhaps. Moments pass so quickly - we must grasp them immediately and hold on to them as long as possible. Well done. Thank you.
